FORGES: Friends of Rwandan Genocide Survivors, 2009-ongoing

Friends of Tubeho is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization committed to providing access to education for more than 300 orphans of the Rwandan genocide of 1994 who live together in small houses provided by the Tubeho association in Kigali. (“Tubeho” means “let’s live” in Kinyarwanda.)

“Remembering Rwanda 1994-2009: Genocide and Its Aftermath” a conference commemorating the 15th Anniversary of the Genocide of the Tutsi in Rwanda. U Mass Boston, April 17, 2009. A service of the University to the community. Day-long conference and film screening, organized in conjunction with FORGES (Friends of Rwandan Genocide Survivors), The UMB Philosophy Club, The UMB African Student Union, the UMB Philosophy Department, UMB Political Science, and The John McCormack School of Policy Studies (International Relations MA Program), and the UMB Provost’s Office.
